A
Leader in the House
With term limits, more than one-third
of the legislators will be new next year, and Greg Piatt's record
of getting things done and his legislative seniority will guarantee him
greater opportunity to be an effective leader for our District. He
is vice chairman of the House Banking Committee, on the Energy and
National Resources Committee and the Appropriation and Budget Committee.
He is also on the Public Health Committee, which is vital to addressing
health needs throughout Oklahoma. |
Reducing
Taxes
Representative Greg Piatt supports eliminating the sales tax on
groceries and establishing a sales tax holiday to help working families
with costly back-to-school supplies. He supports eliminating the
estate tax and the death tax. |
Helping Law
Enforcement
As our representative, Greg Piatt
co-authored a groundbreaking approach to halting the damage from drug
manufacturing and abuse. The Nik Green, Rocky Eales, and Matthew
Evans Act, named after OHP troopers killed in the line of duty by people
involved in illegal drugs, puts strict guidelines on the sale of
products containing pseudoephedrine. Representative Piatt
supported a pay increase for OHP Troopers and state employees as well as
COLA adjustments for retired police and firefighters. |
A
Leader for Traditional
Values
Representative Greg Piatt and his wife Kay have three
children: Travis, 14; Corbin, 7; and Kirsten, 5. He feels strongly
about protecting traditional marriage and family values. Greg
co-authored a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as between
one man and one woman. He has supported streamlining the state
adoption process, helping more children to be placed with loving
families. |
Protecting Rural
Oklahoma and Water
Representative Greg Piatt has continually voted to protect our water
rights and voted to extend the water sale moratorium. Greg
always supports our right to protect natural resources. |
Rural
Healthcare
More access to health care is a priority for Greg Piatt, which is why he
supported legislation to help bring doctors to rural Oklahoma, a
Medicaid payment increase and a prescription drug program for seniors.
He also supports real lawsuit reform that will keep doctors in rural
Oklahoma. |
